NH Literary Award Nominations Now Open
NHWP is pleased to announce that we are now accepting nominations for the biennial NH Literary Awards, with the awards ceremony to be held on Friday, November 8, 2013. Billy Collins Wins Donald Hall-Jane Kenyon Prize in American Poetry
Billy Collins has been selected as the fourth winner of the Donald Hall-Jane Kenyon Prize in American Poetry. He will receive the annual award, which carries a $3,000 prize, and read his poems on October 3rd at the Concord City Auditorium. Collins, a 72-year-old former U.S. poet laureate, has published 13 books of poems, including Horoscopes for the Dead (2011). He is known for the accessibility and humor of his poetry. A native of New York City, he is a distinguished professor at Lehman College of the City University of New York and teaches in the master of fine arts program at Stony Brook Southampton. Writers' Night Out

Monadnock meeting has moved from Harlows to Brady's American Grill, 225 Concord Street, Route 202 North, Peterborough.
Writers' Night Out is your chance to meet and mingle with writers in your area. We meet on the FIRST MONDAY OF THE MONTH in locations across the state. Join us for this warm gathering where you can informally discuss what you are working on, what you are reading, where you are submitting your work, and more. There are no featured readers or speakers. The special guest is YOU. All Writers' Night Out events take place at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Mt. Washington Valley: Up Bar at Horsefeathers in downtown North Conway (right across from the train station and Schouler Park). First meeting will start March 4th.

Seacoast: Common Man, 96 State Street, Portsmouth. Organizers: John Herman and Jim Kelly.
